It’s that time of year again. New year, new you, right? While I don’t necessarily believe in this mantra, I LOVE making new year’s resolutions especially when it comes to personal growth.

It’s a time for dreaming and hopes for the upcoming year.

And I’ll admit, I barely ever accomplish my NYE goals… but I do like envisioning what my upcoming year could be like.

A lot of people make New Year’s resolutions, but very few people actually STICK to them.

Only about 8% of people feel that they are successful in keeping their resolutions.

Since let’s face it, they usually end up being forgotten or it gets too tough and people say, “maybe next year”

but we aren’t those people

This year, we’re going to better ourselves by setting INTENTIONAL personal development goals.

Many personal development experts agree that personal growth is the key to a happier life. But what does personal growth entail? It’s not as simple as it may sound, and there are many misconceptions about personal growth.

Personal growth can encompass anything from happiness to personal finances, health, relationships, or mindset; it all depends on what you’re looking for in your own personal journey of self-development.

Since we’re all on our own journies, our own destined path.

Setting a personal growth intention at the beginning of the year can be a great way to start off the year with the right mindset and a clear path for where you need to go to become the women you want to be.

After all, we could all work on ourselves. We are constantly growing and changing which is an amazing concept. We are in control, no one else.

The new year can be a new chapter, a new beginning.

In this post, I’m going to give you 100 new year’s resolutions ideas in a broad range of areas in your life such as

  • Personal Development Goals
  • Personal Finance Success
  • Healthy Living Tips
  • How to be Confident for Women

etc. etc. etc…

all related to PERSONAL GROWTH

There are so many ways that personal growth can manifest itself in your life! This list will include everything from happiness to relationships with others – all forms of “self” work! I hope that these personal development goal ideas help inspire your own journey into who YOU want to become in 2023.

Remember that personal growth is a marathon – not a sprint! Take baby steps if necessary because there are no shortcuts for personal development success.

I think the best way to actually accomplish a goal is to break it up into manageable pieces.

As you go through this list, you may realize that a lot of these can be intertwined.

I would only pick one idea from this list at a time and focus on that until you feel like you’re in a good place. Remember, you can set goals any time of the year, not just on January 1st. The new year can just be a starting point to creating a life you LOVE.

Without further ado, let’s jump into the new year’s resolutions ideas for personal growth!

100 Self-Development Resolutions (Or Goals) for 2023:

1. Stop Thinking negative thoughts and practice positive thinking

Mindset is everything! Working on eliminating negative thoughts and rewiring your brain to think positively is an excellent first step.

One way I do this is if a negative thought comes up, I immediately reframe it with a positive one.

2. Start Meditating

I started meditating about a year ago and it has had such a positive impact on my life.

Not only did my anxiety decrease, but I was able to create personal growth in other areas of my life. Everything started to become more clear the more I allowed my brain to take a break.

Learning how to meditate is difficult (at least for me) so I would recommend taking a class or some kind of guided meditation as you’re learning. The overthinker in me needed this at least in order to focus on this new practice.

3. Create personal development goals with SMART goals

Creating goals is the first step but figuring out HOW you are going to achieve them is a crucial step.

One tool that personal development coaches often use is SMART goals: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.

This is a great personal development tool that can help you get organized with your personal growth resolutions and stay on track!

If you are thinking this is a cheap shot at a new year’s resolution idea, the idea is focused on taking the time to create the SMART goal. You can say you’re going to meditate but how are you going to achieve it or determine if you were successful? It takes it one step further than just making a resolution.

To learn more on how to do this, check out my post all about SMART goals.

4. Take a personal growth workshop or class

There are so many personal growth classes out there that can help you with different areas of personal development.

If you learn better in a group setting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to get out of your comfort zone and grow personally.

There are also a lot of self-paced courses online that you can take. Sometimes putting some money into the game, makes you more motivated to actually do it, you know?

5. Read one personal development book per month

Reading personal development books is a great way to learn new things and stay inspired. This is actually one of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2023.

I would recommend reading one personal growth book each month and then reviewing it at the end of that month. Pick whatever you are struggling with the most right now so you can apply the techniques outlined in the book.

This will help you retain the personal development information you are learning and also improve your reading comprehension!

6. Start a gratitude journal

I started a gratitude journal last year and it has been one of the best personal growth decisions I have made.

Each day, I write down three things I am grateful for. It doesn’t require a lot of time but it makes such a big difference! I usually try to write down three things I was grateful for from the day before. Some days, this is harder than others but it is a good way to find some good in every day!

Once you start practicing it, I guarantee more good things will come your way!

7. Stop reading the news

The news can be so negative and it’s not always good for your personal growth or mental health.

If watching the news makes you feel bad or makes you see the world as a negative place then I would unsubscribe from all the major news sources and read or listen to personal growth podcasts instead.

This will help you to see the good in the world and stay positive!

Don’t worry, you won’t miss out. Check out this article from the Medium where this writer hasn’t watched the news in 6 YEARS and still knew about the changing regulations with Covid-19.

8. Connect with at least one new person weekly who can help you grow personally

This could be someone from a personal development workshop or class, or simply someone you met through networking.

The key is to find people who can help you grow and learn new things. Even talking to someone from a different background or who has different experiences can increase diversity and inclusion within your network which will naturally help you grow personally.

9. Follow a personal growth blog or podcast

There are so many personal growth resources out there that can be helpful – the trick is to find what works for you.

I would recommend trying out a few personal growth blogs (like this one!) or podcasts and seeing which ones resonate with you.

This is a great way to stay inspired and motivated throughout the year!

Two podcasts I recommend are EmpowerHER and the Mindset Mentor.

One of my favorite blogs for personal growth is the Blissful Mind.

10. Spend 30 minutes each day working on something that scares you

This personal growth resolution is a big one and it requires some courage.

I would recommend working on things that you have been putting off, or that you don’t feel confident about. For me, that is working on this blog and showing up on Instagram and Tik Tok.

This is a great personal growth resolution for those who want to get out of their own way. A lot of times we know what we need to do but we are scared to do it.

But girl, each time you show up and prove yourself wrong, the easier it will become.

Trust me, I’ve been in the same spot you are. Heck, I’m still there sometimes.

11. Take care of your physical health by eating well and exercising regularly

Focusing on your physical health is a personal growth resolution that can have such a positive impact on your life. After all, if you don’t feel good physically, you aren’t going to want to improve your mental state.

Taking the time to exercise and nourish your body will help you FEEL your BEST. If you feel your best, you’ll be able to show up and have the energy to succeed.

If you need help with this personal development goal, I would recommend finding an exercise buddy, personal trainer, and/or nutrition coach.

12. Drink enough water

This personal growth resolution is not necessarily related to personal development, but it’s still important.

A good goal is to drink enough water so that your pee is a light yellow. I know, gross but everyone’s water needs are different.

It’s easy to become dehydrated if you are sitting at your desk all day, and drinking water is an easy way to help us feel our best. Our bodies need enough water to be able to function properly.

13. Actually follow a skincare routine

I know that personal care tasks can be tedious and not very exciting, but this personal growth resolution is important.

A good skincare routine can help us feel more confident which can improve our personal growth.

I would recommend doing basic skincare tasks, like washing your face and moisturizing, each day. I know it is easy to put off when you’re tired, but take the time to do it! Trust me, future you will thank you.

This will help keep your skin healthy and looking its best!

14. Practice self-love and acceptance daily

This one is important because how can we achieve personal development goals if we don’t love and accept ourselves?

I would recommend doing something each day to show yourself some self-love, like writing down three things you like about yourself, taking a relaxing bath, or meditating.

When we practice self-love and acceptance, it becomes easier to show up and crush personal growth goals.

15. Spend time in nature each day

This personal growth resolution is one of my favorites because it’s free and easy to do!

I would recommend spending at least 30 minutes each day outside in nature. This can be as simple as sitting on your patio or going for a walk. Breathe in some fresh air and get some Vitamin D.

This can be a great way to relax and center yourself, and it’s also good for your mental health.

16. Perform personal acts of kindness for others daily

I would recommend doing something kind for someone each day, like making them a cup of coffee, sending them a positive message, or doing something for them that they wouldn’t be able to do for themselves. It doesn’t have to be anything extraordinary.

This personal growth resolution is a great way to make the world a little bit better, and it can also feel really good too.

17. Volunteer your time to help someone else weekly

This personal growth resolution requires some creativity!

You can volunteer at a local charity, work with a personal development coach (to be able to pay it forward), or help a family member with personal development goals.

Whatever your personal preferences are, this is an important personal growth resolution that can have a big impact on someone else’s life.

18. Spend more time with loved ones

This personal growth resolution is one of the easiest ones to achieve!

I would recommend spending more time with loved ones, whether that means going out for dinner, going on a hike, or just hanging out at home.

When we spend time with loved ones, it can help us feel more connected and supported.

19. Watch less TV

This personal growth resolution is another easy one to achieve!

If you watch less TV and replace that time with activities that are more beneficial to your personal growth, then you can actually be productive with your time.

You can spend that time working on personal development goals, learning a new skill, or meditating.

20. Take rest days

A good personal development goal is to take rest days when you need them! You can let your body recover from exercise or just allow yourself to relax and recharge.

I know this doesn’t sound like a personal development goal, but taking care of ourselves can actually help personal growth.

If we give ourselves the time to slow down, we can focus on what really matters and figure out how to move forward.

If we’re always on the go, there isn’t any time to change the status quo.

21. Try something new

This personal growth resolution is a great way to challenge yourself and grow!

I would recommend trying something new, whether that means learning a new skill, traveling somewhere you’ve never been before, or starting a new hobby.

When we try something new, it can help us learn more about ourselves and what we’re capable of.

22. Find a hobby

This personal growth resolution is a fun one because it’s all about having fun!

I would recommend finding a hobby that you love, whether that means going to the movies with friends, playing video games by yourself for hours on end, or learning an instrument.

When we have something that we’re passionate about in life, it can help us feel more fulfilled.

23. Spend more time engaging in other activities

This personal growth resolution is a great way to challenge yourself!

I would recommend spending more time engaging in other activities, whether that means learning about another culture, reading more books, or taking up a new sport.

When we engage in other activities, it can help us learn more about the world and ourselves.

24. Say no to things that don’t serve you

This personal growth resolution is an important one!

Say no to things that don’t serve you, whether that means taking on too many commitments, agreeing to do something you don’t want to do, or eating foods that aren’t good for you.

When we say no to things that don’t serve us, it can help us focus on the things that are important to us instead.

25. Set boundaries with people who are harmful or toxic in your life

This personal growth resolution is important for personal safety!

You should set boundaries with people who are harmful or toxic in your life. You might have to end a relationship that’s harming you, distance yourself from someone being abusive or who doesn’t make you feel good or avoid an addiction that wants to take over your life.

When we set boundaries with people who are harmful or toxic, it can help us feel safer and more at peace.

26. Stop smoking

This personal growth resolution is an important one for your health!

I would recommend stopping smoking, whether that means quitting cold turkey or using a plan to help you quit.

When we stop smoking, it can help us feel better physically and emotionally.

27. Create a budget

This personal growth resolution is a great way to get your finances in order!

I would recommend creating a budget, whether that means using an app or just writing out your expenses and income.

When we create a budget, it can help us stay on track with our money and save for the future.

28. Write daily affirmations

This personal growth resolution can help you stay positive!

Start by writing 5 affirmations every day, whether that means saying them out loud or just writing them down. It’s good to use the same ones until you believe them to your core.

When we write daily affirmations, it can help us focus on the good in our lives and keep a positive mindset.

29. Save for Retirement

This personal growth resolution is an important one to set you up for the future.

Whether that means setting up a 401k or IRA or just putting money aside each month.

When we save for retirement, it can help us have a more comfortable life in our later years and spend more time with loved ones or doing what we love.

This personal growth resolution is a great way to grow!

Whether that means facing a phobia or doing something that scares you.

When we overcome fear, it can help us feel more confident and capable in life.

I would recommend conquering one limiting belief, whether that means believing you’re not good enough or thinking you can’t do something.

When we conquer our limiting beliefs, it can help us feel more confident and capable in life.

32. Getting enough sleep (7-9 hours)

This means making it a priority each night or using an app like Sleep Cycle.

When we get enough sleep, it can help us feel rested and energized throughout the day.

33. Live a more minimalistic lifestyle

This personal growth resolution is a great way to live!

I would recommend living a more minimalistic lifestyle, whether that means decluttering your home or saying no to excess.

When we live a more minimalistic lifestyle, it can help us feel less overwhelmed and have space for the things that are most important to us.

34. Save money for a trip

This personal growth resolution is a great way to travel!

I would recommend saving money for a trip, whether that means putting aside $50 each month or picking a destination and saving for it.

When we save money for a trip, it can help us have an amazing experience without breaking the bank.

35. Travel more (weekend getaway, abroad, to the beach, etc.)

This personal growth resolution is a great way to see the world!

I would recommend traveling more by taking weekend getaways or going on trips abroad.

When we travel more, it can help us see new places and cultures and learn about the world.

36. Go on a solo trip

This personal growth resolution is a great way to grow!

Going on a solo trip doesn’t necessarily mean traveling somewhere by yourself. It could also be doing something alone. I wouldn’t say something like running errands but something that scares you a little.

When we go on a solo trip, it can help us learn more about ourselves and challenge our comfort zones. I’ve heard so many great things about taking the leap and going on a trip by yourself.

37. Attend a yoga class once a week

I would recommend practicing yoga at least once a week, whether that means going to a studio or doing it at home.

When we attend a yoga class, it can help us improve our flexibility and strength as well as our mental wellbeing.

38. Move your body as much as possible (at least one minute every hour)

I would recommend moving your body as much as possible, whether that means doing a five-minute workout or taking a brisk walk.

Even making sure you are standing up every hour is a good start!

When we move our bodies, it can help us feel more energized and healthy both physically and mentally.

39. Find a workout routine that you love

I would recommend finding a workout routine that you love, this could be anything from an at-home program or joining a gym. I really like Train with Katie, a weight lifting program by Katie Sonier.

When we find the right fitness routine for us, it can help us feel better about ourselves and set goals to reach. It also makes it easier to show up and actually want to squeeze your workout into your busy schedule.

40. Train for something — half marathon, triathlon, etc.

This personal growth resolution is a great way to challenge yourself!

Whether that means signing up for a triathlon or a 5K, sign up for something that is going to push you past your current limits.

When we train for something, it can help us push ourselves and achieve goals we never thought possible.

I did the Disney Princess half marathon a few years back and I still can’t believe I ran 13 MILES. It is proof that I can do anything I set my mind to.

41. Spend time cleaning (clean space = clear mind)

When we clean, it can help us feel more organized and have a clear mind.

Since we all know that walking into a messy house is not relaxing. It doesn’t make us want to go meditate.

Spending just 20 minutes a day cleaning can help you stay ahead of the mess and allow you to have more time to work on yourself.

42. Break a bad habit

When we break a bad habit, it can help us feel better about ourselves and have more control over our lives.

If we’re no longer doing that bad habit, then we have more time to focus on good habits.

43. Make time for self-care

I would recommend making time for self-care, whether that means doing something each day or just taking some time for yourself on the weekends.

When we make time for self-care, it can help us relax and de-stress from our busy lives.

Whether that means just getting off your phone or deleting certain apps.

When we take time away from our phones and social media, it can help us feel less anxious about what everyone else is doing online.

45. Celebrate ALL wins

All wins should be celebrated, no matter how big or how small. They are a win for you and that’s something amazing.

When we celebrate our personal victories, it can help us feel more confident and motivated to keep trying.

46. Wake up at the same time every day

When we wake up at the same time each day, it can help our bodies and minds get into a routine.

This means waking up at the same time every day, even on the weekends. At first, you’re going to have to set an alarm but eventually, your body will naturally wake up around that time.

47. Stretch more

I would recommend stretching more often, whether that means doing a quick stretch each morning or focusing on a routine around flexibility.

When we stretch our muscles, it can help us feel refreshed and ready to take on the day.

48. Turn off your phone an hour before bedtime

Whether that means putting it on the other side of the room or just leaving it in another room.

When we turn our phones off at night, it can help us relax and get better sleep. We won’t be tempted to look through emails or social media posts one last time before bed.

49. Invest time in relationships that are positive

I would recommend investing time in relationships that are positive, whether that means spending more quality time with the people you love or just reaching out to someone who could use a friend.

When we invest time in good relationships, it can help us feel better about ourselves and have support when we need it most.

50. Talk openly about personal development with friends and family

Talking openly about personal development with your friends and family means sharing articles you’ve read or just discussing your goals.

When we talk about personal development with the people we love, it can help us stay accountable and motivated to reach our goals. It puts some skin in the game once someone else knows what we are trying to do.

51. Create a vision board or goal list for 2023

I would write down personal milestones you want to accomplish, hang up some inspirational quotes, and create a vision board with what you want to accomplish in 2023.

When we create personal goals and visions for the future, it can help us feel inspired and confident in our ability to reach what we’re working towards. It gives us a clearer path on what we need to do.

Since if we don’t know where we are going, how are we supposed to get to the destination?

52. Stop procrastinating

Procrastinating kills personal growth. It’s easier than putting ourselves out there and failing. But then we will stay where we are now forever.

And if you’re looking for ideas for personal development resolutions, you don’t seem like someone who wants to be stagnant.

So stop procrastinating. Whether that means setting a timer for yourself, forcing yourself to not move until you do the task at hand, or just breaking the task down into smaller chunks.

When we stop procrastinating, it can help us feel more productive and less stressed about the things we need to get done.

53. Take a bath every week to de-stress

This could mean lighting candles and putting on some relaxing music or just filling up the tub with hot water.

When we take time for personal care and self-care it can help us calm down and feel ready to face whatever life throws our way next.

54. Read more

And this can be anything! Not just personal development books. Read something that you will enjoy.

It could even be articles online or a comic strip. As long as you’re reading.

When we read more, it can help us learn new things and broaden our horizons. It can also help us relax and unwind after a long day.

55. Laugh Everyday

I would recommend laughing every day, whether that means watching your favorite reality TV show or just hanging out with friends who make you laugh.

When we laugh every day, it can help us feel more positive and happy. It can also help us connect with the people around us in a deeper way.

56. Let go of Grudges

I think it is time to forgive a friend or just take care of unfinished personal business. As long as letting them back in isn’t going to cause you harm, letting go of grudges can be a very freeing thing.

When we let go of grudges it can help us feel more at peace and less weighed down by anger or resentment towards other people.

57. Learn to cook

This could be asking your mom for her personal recipes or just watching a few YouTube videos.

When we learn new skills like cooking it can help us feel more confident and in control of what we put into our bodies. Also, cooking is fun! And you get delicious food afterwords so double win.

58. Give yourself more credit

Everyone can benefit from giving themselves more credit.

You should acknowledge your accomplishments and just be kinder to yourself in general.

When we give ourselves more credit, it can help us feel more confident and capable. It can also motivate us to keep reaching for our goals.

Because sometimes we make such big goals that we forget how far we’ve come.

59. Pray or practice mindfulness

When we pray or practice mindfulness, it can help us connect with our higher power or inner peace. It can also help us be more present in the moment and appreciate life’s little blessings.

So say a prayer before bed or just take a few minutes each day to focus on your breath. It can make a huge difference in your life.

I would recommend reminding yourself of your personal growth goals daily, whether that means writing them down or just reciting them over and over again as you brush your teeth before bedtime. As long as you’re making yourself aware of your goals every day so it stays at the top of your mind.

When we remind ourselves of our personal goals and visions, it can help us stay focused on the things that matter. It will also give you something to reference when you’re feeling discouraged or stuck.

62. Be on Time

By arriving at appointments a few minutes early or just being more mindful of the clock throughout the day, being on time is very important. If we’re always late, we’re always feeling rushed to get to the destination.

When we’re on time it can help us feel more organized and in control of our lives. It also shows others that we respect their time as well.

63. Learn to enjoy your own company. Be more independent.

When we learn to enjoy our own company, it can help us feel more confident and in control of our lives. It also gives us a chance to recharge when we need personal time alone.

It is definitely good to learn how to be more independent, whether that means setting out on your own or just getting better at doing things for yourself (even if it takes a little longer).

When we become more independent, it can help us feel stronger and more capable. It can also teach us how to rely on ourselves and know we can accomplish anything we set our mind to.

64. Face your insecurities.

Facing our insecurities can help us feel better about ourselves and the world around us. It also helps to protect against personal attacks from other people or negative self-talk.

I would face your personal fears and insecurities head-on, whether that means taking a personal inventory of what you’re most afraid of or just taking a personal day to spend some time alone with yourself.

When we face our insecurities, it can help us feel more confident and empowered. It can also teach us to be kinder to ourselves and more compassionate towards others as well!

65. Watch less TV

If we watch less TV, it can help us feel more alert and present throughout the day. It also gives us a chance to explore personal interests or spend time outdoors (which is good for mental health).

This could be by signing up for cable without hundreds of channels or just turning off your computer/TV after you’ve finished your work for the day.

When we watch less TV, it can help us feel more confident and positive about our personal growth journey. It can also help us connect more with the people and things around us!

66. Incorporate Me time into your schedule

When we take personal time for ourselves, it can help us feel more relaxed and better able to handle life’s challenges. It also helps protect against burnout or feeling overwhelmed with personal growth.

I would incorporate personal care in your everyday routine, whether that means finding a quiet moment in your schedule where you can meditate or listen to some music, or just taking time to be present.

When we take personal time for ourselves, it can help us feel more centered and capable of reaching our personal growth goals. It can also show us that we’re worth investing in ourselves!

67. Become more organized

It shifts your mind from the thoughts that the world is out to get you to something that you can control which is really powerful.

70. Create a 5-year career plan

In order to set yourself up for success, you want to create a 5-year career plan so you know where you are going. When we create a personal career plan, it can help us feel more capable and confident in personal growth. It also helps protect against self-doubt or feeling like our careers are stagnant!

I would recommend evaluating your personal career plan every year (even if you’re not changing jobs), whether that means finding out what your coworkers love about their personal jobs or just asking the people in your personal network what they love about their careers. It could be even as simple as discussing your career plan with your manager or mentor and what steps you need to take to get there.

When we create a career plan, it can help us feel more capable and confident with our personal growth journey so far. It can also teach us to become better planners as well!

71. Find a job that better aligns with this plan if needed

This can help us feel more confident and capable in our personal growth. It also helps protect against feeling stuck or unfulfilled in our careers!

I would recommend evaluating if you are in alignment every year, whether that means talking to a recruiter or just doing some personal research on job postings.

It can also show us that we’re worth investing in ourselves!

72. Ask for a raise or promotion

When we ask for a raise or promotion, it can help us feel more confident and capable in our personal growth. It also helps protect against feeling undervalued at our jobs!

Now, raises and promotions are earned so it isn’t something that you should expect if you’ve just been on autopilot all year. However, if you feel you rocked this past year or completed a super valuable project, then ask for that raise or promotion!

It can also teach us to become better negotiators!

73. Work on overcoming past traumas

When we work on overcoming past traumas, it can help us feel more confident and capable in personal growth. It also helps protect against negative thoughts or feelings about the past!

I would recommend working to overcome your personal traumas every day (even if you don’t think there’s much room for improvement), whether that means finding a therapist or just looking for a mentor.

When we work on overcoming our personal traumas, it can help us feel more confident and capable with personal growth. It can also teach us to be more resilient as well!

74. Eat more fruits and vegetables

I would recommend adding a serving of fruit or veggies into your diet every day (even if you don’t think there’s much room for improvement), whether that means packing a salad for lunch or snacking on some carrots and hummus.

When we eat more fruits and vegetables, it can help us feel better since we’re providing our bodies with the various nutrition that it needs. It can also help us maintain a healthy weight!

75. Schedule your annual check-ups

I would get your annual physical and check-ups every year.

When we get our annual physical checkups, it can help protect us against feeling ill or unwell! This is not to say that you should only go to the doctor every year during a check-up, but it is a good way to make sure that you’re on top of your personal health and taking the appropriate preventive measures to stay healthy.

76. Go on more dates

When you go on more dates with your partner, it can help you feel closer to them and in tune with what they like. It also helps protect against feelings of loneliness or distance!

I would go on one date per week, whether that means planning a special date night, a fun date night in or just grab some coffee together. As long as you give your partner your undivided attention, then dates will help bring you closer together and create memories that will last a lifetime.

77. Find a creative outlet

Having a way to get your creative juices flowing can help protect us against feeling bored or uninspired with our lives!

I would recommend finding a creative outlet every day, whether that means signing up for an art class or just writing in your personal journal.

A creative outlet can be anything from painting to playing the guitar– find what works for you and stick with it!

78. Increase your emotional resilience

When we increase our emotional resilience, it can decrease feelings of being overwhelmed or stressed in difficult situations!

Ways to increase your emotional resilience every day include finding a therapist, learning to embrace change, working on your mindset, or just looking for a mentor.

79. Become a better listener

When we become better listeners, it can help us build stronger relationships with the people around us. It also helps protect against feelings of anger or resentment!

I would recommend becoming a better listener every day by simply taking some time to listen without judging.

It also helps us build rapport with the people around us!

We can all work to become better listeners– it’s a skill that takes practice, but is definitely worth it in the end!

80. Add unwinding/destress time to your schedule

When we make sure to include time in our schedules to relax after a long day, it can help us manage feelings of stress and anxiety. It also helps protect against burnout!

Time to wind down doesn’t have to be a luxury– it can simply mean scheduling some time alone every day, whether that means going for a walk or just sitting down with your favorite book.

81. Learn a new language

Learning a new language can help us better understand other cultures and their customs. It also helps protect against feelings of ignorance or isolation!

You can learn another language by finding a tutor, joining an online course, or using an app like Duolingo.

When we learn a new language, it can help us better understand the world around us.

Learning a new language is definitely a challenge, but it’s so worth it in the end!

82. Call a friend or family member every week to catch up

Calling a friend or family member every week to catch up can help us feel more connected to them. It also helps protect against feelings of loneliness!

I like calling a friend or family member every week for at least an hour to catch up on what’s been going on in their lives. It has given me the opportunity to connect with them and build a deeper relationship than just waiting until I see them.

Make sure to call people you care about– they’ll love hearing from you!

83. Track your mood daily to identify triggers

When we track our mood daily, it can help us identify personal triggers. It also helps protect against feelings of anxiety or depression!

I would recommend tracking your mood every day using a journal or an app like Moodpath.

Make sure to track your mood daily– it can help you better understand yourself!

84. Schedule time for self-reflection

Self-reflection can help us better understand our personal goals and motivations. It also helps protect against feelings of confusion or aimlessness!

I would schedule time for self-reflection every week, by sitting down with a journal or taking a walk by yourself.

Self-reflection is a personal journey, but it’s a worthwhile one!

85. Do something outside your comfort zone every month

Challenging our comfort zone can help us better embrace personal growth. It also helps protect against feelings of apprehension or self-doubt!

Do something you never thought you’d try every month– whether that means going to a museum alone, trying a new recipe by yourself, or signing up for an online course in a subject you’re interested in.

Pushing ourselves to do new things every month is a great way to grow as a person!

86. Discover ways to stand up for yourself

Standing up for yourself will give you more confidence in your personal convictions. It also helps protect against feelings of being taken advantage of!

Do this by exploring different methods of standing up for yourself, whether that means attending a self-defense class, reading articles or books about assertiveness, or watching videos on different ways to stand up for yourself.

Pushing ourselves to discover new methods of standing up for ourselves is a great personal growth goal!

87. Work on your confidence

Confidence is everything. It can help us feel more comfortable in our own skin. It also helps protect against feelings of insecurity or self-consciousness! Confidence is one of the first things you should work on when going on your personal development journey.

Try working on your confidence every day by accepting compliments graciously, speaking up for yourself, and challenging negative thoughts about yourself.

Confidence is key to personal growth!

88. Create a morning routine

When we create a morning routine, it can help us start our day off on the right foot. It also helps protect against feelings of stress or overwhelm!

I would create a morning routine that includes waking up early, drinking plenty of water, eating breakfast, and spending some time in prayer or meditation.

Having a morning routine is so important for personal growth!

89. Create a nightly routine

Equally as important is creating a nightly routine to signal to your brain that it is time to go to bed. It should help you wind down from the day. It also helps protect against feelings of insomnia or restlessness!

I would recommend creating a nightly routine that includes reading something light, turning off all electronics before bedtime, taking some time to journal about your thoughts on the day, and drinking chamomile tea before bed.

A nightly routine is a great way to ensure a good night’s sleep!

90. Compliment yourself

When we compliment ourselves, it can help us feel more confident in our personal abilities. It also helps protect against feelings of self-doubt or insecurity!

Compliment yourself every day– even if the only thing you like about yourself is your ability to make other people smile.

Self-love and personal growth go hand-in-hand!

91. Stop apologizing

If you quit apologizing when it is not warranted, it will help you feel more empowered in your personal life. It also helps protect against feelings of guilt or regret!

Only apologize when you’ve genuinely done something wrong or let others down. Stopping ourselves from apologizing is a great way to boost our confidence and empower ourselves!

Also, speak up for yourself in situations where an apology is warranted.

92. Improve your communication skills

Communication is everything. If we don’t know how to communicate properly, it can lead to some not-so-pleasant situations. When we improve our communication skills, it can help us feel more confident in personal relationships. It also helps protect against feelings of insecurity or fear!

Being able to communicate effectively helps everyone be on the same page. It is definitely a learned skill and something that takes a lot of practice.

I would recommend improving your communication skills by writing out what you want to say before confronting someone about an issue, asking open-ended questions when trying to learn more about people, and saying “no” when you need to.

Good communication skills are key to any healthy relationship!

93. Decrease your screen time

When we decrease our screen time, it can help us feel more connected to the people around us. It also helps protect against feelings of isolation or loneliness!

I would recommend decreasing your screen time by scheduling specific times in your day to use electronics, making a point to talk to people IRL whenever possible, and turning off all electronics 30 minutes before bedtime.

Screen time can be really harmful to our personal growth, so it’s important to take steps to decrease it!

94. Be more intentional with your time

Being more intentional with your time can lead you to become more productive. It also helps protect against feelings of laziness or boredom!

Being more intentional with your time every day can be done by setting specific goals for yourself, planning out your days and weeks ahead of time, and taking short breaks throughout the day to relax and rejuvenate.

Intentional living is a great way to achieve personal growth and actually accomplish your goals.

95. Unfollow accounts or people on social media that negatively impact your emotions

By unfollowing accounts or people on social media, it can lead us to feel more positive in our personal lives. It also helps protect against feelings of envy or anger!

I would recommend unfollowing any accounts that make you feel bad about yourself, scrolling through your Facebook feed without feeling guilty, and unsubscribing from any email lists that cause you to feel overwhelmed or stressed.

96. Discover ways to be more confident in your body

Feeling good in your own skin is super important. It protects against feelings of insecurity or anxiety!

But even said than done, right?

I get it. Society has told us the opposite for years. It’s hard to rewire the brain to tell yourself you look good as you are.

Some ways to become more comfortable with your body is by practicing yoga and meditation, surrounding yourself around positive people who make you feel good about yourself, and speaking up when someone comments negatively on your (or their) personal appearance.

97. Learn to listen to your body

When we learn to listen to our bodies, it can help us better understand our personal needs. It also helps protect against feelings of confusion or overwhelm!

Learn to listen to your body by paying attention to your emotions, taking breaks when you feel overwhelmed, and tuning into what your body is telling you during mealtimes.

98. Lose or Gain Weight

There can be many reasons why someone wants to lose or gain weight. I’m not going to just say lose weight here because that isn’t everyone’s goal!

Ways to help you lose or gain weight are setting realistic goals for yourself, finding an exercise routine that you enjoy, and tracking your progress over time. Calorie counting to gain awareness can be extremely helpful.

Just remind yourself that you don’t need to count calories forever, it is just a tool to help you meet your caloric needs.

Weight loss or gain can be really personal, so it’s important to find a healthy and sustainable way of achieving our personal goals.

99. Create a cleaning schedule

When we create a cleaning schedule, it can help us feel more organized and in control of our personal lives. It also helps protect against feelings of chaos or overwhelm!

I would create a cleaning schedule by designating specific days and times for different tasks, making a list of the areas of your home that need to be cleaned, and enlisting the help of your friends and family members.

When we create long-term and short-term goals, it can help us feel more productive in our personal life. It also helps protect against feelings of laziness or boredom!
